Our volunteers are from all walks of life and have very different reasons for wanting to help us & the families we support. We’d like to introduce you to a few of them;
“Following an early retirement I decided to find a Charity to possibly do some voluntary work. I had previously been involved with large Charities, on committees and fund raising but decided I wanted to support a smaller Charity involved with supporting children, as my entire career had been spent in children’s Education. I also wanted it to be a local Charity so that I could be more ‘hands on’.
Promise Dreams fulfilled my criteria so I went along to see the Charity manager – I was welcomed with open arms and became a regular volunteer in the office on Wednesdays. I was treated as one of the team and included in all types of work for the Charity; from stuffing envelopes to preparing for Charity fund raising events.
Due to health problems I had to curtail my regular Wednesday commitment but I continue to support the Charity by organising my own fund raisers and have spread the word in my local community where others now regularly support Promise Dreams.
If you have a few hours to spare do consider volunteering for Promise Dreams. You will find you get back more than you put in.”
Paula brings her event experience to the charity together with a wealth of contacts. She organises Ladies Lunches, with the support of the office based team and these are always a great success. Her ability to charm raffle prizes from her many contacts always comes in handy too.
The Felton Family
“Promise dreams granted our daughter Freya’s wish of a Wendy house for the garden. This has given Freya endless amounts of fun and pleasure and still does. Without fundraisers she would not have had this wish. We wanted to help Promise Dreams by raising money to help other terminally and seriously ill children getting their wishes granted the same as Freya has.
We completely understand how much this meant to us as a family and without the much needed help and support Freya would not have had her wish of the Wendy house.
We help promise dreams whenever possible with; bag packs, sponsored walks, fundraising events and now we are currently making and selling bracelets to help another poorly child.
As a family me, Wes, Connor, Becky and especially Freya help out anytime we can and it honestly is the very least we can do to give back to Promise Dreams for everything they have done for our daughter Freya and the way they have supported us all.”
