It may still be November but Christmas is a-coming! Our fabulous friends at Leekes in Bilston are starting the Christmas celebrations early – starting this Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd November with plenty of festive cheer and lots, and lots of great bargains for your home.
Make sure the date is in your diary because there really is festive fun for all the family, including Santa in his winter wonderland grotto, special appearances from his live reindeer between 11am and 4pm each day; and lots, lots more of seasonal good cheer. And the great news is … all the proceeds from Santa’s Grotto go to Leekes favourite charity – Promise Dreams!
As well as seeing Santa, there will be some tasty traditional treats whilst you look around the home store that gives you more – from mince pies and mulled wine to a hearty hog roast, there will be more than a few fabulous things on offer this weekend.

The lovely people at Leekes in Bilston support Promise Dreams at every opportunity they can get and many of you will remember seeing Store Manager Tony Squires, Assistant Manager Samantha Woolley and the rest of the Leekes team in their bright green T shirts ‘Walking the Dream’ on our 10 mile sponsored hike around Wolverhampton back in the summer.
Tony said, ‘Our staff have always supported charity events from national charities to nearby pet sanctuaries however it is local charity Promise Dreams that really captured our imagination.’ When pressed on the subject, Samantha explained why. ‘We like how Promise Dreams use the funds we raise. Children are so vulnerable yet the future belongs to them. If Promise Dreams weren’t there, who would help them? She spoke from the heart and told how the staff at Leekes are like a family who want to care for others in the community, ‘We all come from humble backgrounds but we know we have been lucky in life. Others have not been so fortunate. This is our way of putting something back into the community.’
Well now, as the season turns to one of Christmas good cheer, they launch the annual festivities by welcoming Father Christmas and his energetic elves to spread glad tidings to you and your family – along with some great gift offers for the home.
Store Manager Tony Squires said, ‘Leekes was formed from a small shop over 100 years ago and saw tough times through the years of the depression, two World Wars and increased competition from many, many others – but we are proud of our heritage and we have earned our reputation that is characterised by belief in the family unit, hope and ambition for our children … and all coupled with a strong sense of community.’
Makes Christmas seem ‘real’ doesn’t it?
Formally a Coles furniture store, Leekes in Bilson undertook a £3 million refurbishment back in 2009 to become a one-stop destination with everything you need for the home. Both Tony and Samantha have seen Leekes grow into a mega store for the home at the superstore conveniently situated in Bilston near Wolverhampton, Dudley and Walsall in just a few short years. Their support for Promise Dreams however, looks like lasting generations!
‘We’ve set ourselves a target to carry on raising money for children and families through Promise Dreams and our staff team are with us every step of the way. It has become their dream to help Promise Dreams! They will make or hire their own costumes, give up their free time to take part in charity events and do the craziest things – just to help where they can,’ said Sam, beaming with pride as she looked forward to this coming Christmas weekend.

Tony went further, ‘We want to ensure children have their wish granted this Christmas or have a dream delivered next year. If our effort, which does take a lot of time and hard work, takes a problem off someone’s mind for a short time then it is all worthwhile. And we know that every penny counts.’
Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without some moments of magical music and Promise Dreams favourite Niel Jackson of Signal 107 radio and the City of Wolverhampton Brass Band will be the musical maestros getting you in the Xmas party mood throughout this coming weekend!
Whilst grown-ups will want to see some fabulous home furnishings from kitchens and bathrooms to beds, lounge and dining rooms, we know younger members of the family will be well entertained with guest appearances from children’s fancy dress characters, face painting, competitions, bouncy castle and even an exciting treasure hunt. But be warned, Santa will be busy so try to book your little ones in to see him by calling the store first!
With a wide selection of modern and traditional styles, from leading household brands, the store is full of home inspiration. You’ll be spoilt for choice with their unrivalled selection for furniture and accessories for every room in your home – as well as being able to rely on the friendly staff, a speedy delivery service and very competitive prices.
Christmas couldn’t start in a better way this weekend and funds raised from Santa’s grotto at Leekes will mean a merrier Christmas for Promise Dreams families everywhere.
