Nottingham-based company BCS (Brake Caliper Specialists) have decided to support Promise Dreams after owner and director Richard Munt agreed to fight in an amateur MMA (mixed martial arts / cage fighting) competition supporting the charity.
After researching the work that Promise Dreams do for terminally ill children, Richard instantly felt compelled to help. He said “I have always wanted to do something amazing for other people, as a business owner I am always busy, but with this arrangement I can have a positive effect on people’s lives. I am often told that I am too kind for my own good, but I am determined to leave the world a little better than I found it. We can all do something to improve the lives of others, you should do what you can. We can’t all take from the world, you have to give back too.”
BCS have vowed to help Promise Dreams by making a donation for every customer who sends their brakes for refurbishment. In addition to that, £5 for every 4 or 5 star review received from their customers. Richard said “I wanted to involve the staff in making a difference, I suppose it is a way to further force quality into our work. If the lads are mindful that doing a great job for our customers may result in a great review, thus another £5 donation to Promise Dreams, then they will know that doing a great job is no longer just about job satisfaction and earning a wage but they will have a direct impact on a child’s life too, nothing can compete with that, not even a pay rise.”
A donation in this way means no extra time or effort needed from Richard’s team but a huge difference being made to Promise Dreams.
Daniel Smith, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Promise Dreams said, “We are thrilled that Richard and his team have chosen to support our small charity. With only 6 members of staff we are always so grateful to anyone who can help us raise even more money. To have a company recognising the importance of the work we do and choosing to support us without causing extra work for themselves is a win-win for everybody. This is also a fantastic opportunity for us to promote the work that we do to more families across the country who may be able to apply to us. We can’t thank BCS enough for choosing to work with us in this way and we’re extremely excited about the partnership.”
